Butterflies & Hope Whispers...

Hoping you had a great weekend!!

I have been enjoying the creativity while viewing the Work With Our Stash: Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge this week with my friends at Scraps of Color and I also during the fun over at 2nd Annual Link Up for Pink Party.

It is my sincere prayer that a cure will be found for very - very soon, for this horrible disease.  In the meantime... I'm so glad to see so much awareness going on.  This is an important reminder that men and women must do their self-checks and see a medical professional for regular check-ups, because early detection certainly is a life-saver and I'm a witness.

I wanted to share this card before turning in - because I plan to post this one also on both of the websites. I used pink card stock by Colorbok & Bazzill; Martha Stewart - Butterfly punch; and a very nice digi 'Hope Whispers' designed by Yolie at Link Up for Pink

Have a very good night and thank you for stopping by my blog of creations.

Hope Whispers / Pray For A Cure / Courage!!

Greetings to all!
This has been such a fun weekend for me. I've had plenty of time to relax and craft.  I'm sharing with you a card created for a fellow breast cancer survivor ~ wishing her Hope & Courage - all while praying for a cure for this awful disease.

I'm so very happy that I was introduced to Link Up For Pink by my friend Mary of My Afrocentric Creations. I met Mary while at Scraps of Color ~ she's been a very good friend! I'm going to enter this card, as well as my next one into the Link Up Party at Link Up For Pink!

I used papers from The Paper Studio; Digi designed by Yolie over at LUFP _ Freebies;  Pray for a Cure stamp from The Ink Pink Collection at A Jillian Vance Design; Courage is from My Minds Eye.

Thanks for stopping by!

*Happy Saturday*

Greetings to you! Hoping you are having a fun & crafty weekend.

I had a chance to complete a couple of projects today (I'll post more later).  I am sharing a card I started on last while chatting over at Scraps of Color (SOC) during their weekly - Friday Nite Chat & Challenge.  So much fun chatting away (trying to keep up) with the talented / creative ladies & gents there! Below is my take on Challenge #1: Make a square card with eight squares on it. (Square cardstock or patterned paper bases do not count as part of the eight squares.) Include one or more stamped images, a sentiment of your choice and some bling.

I will also enter my card into the ongoing Link Up Party at Link Up For Pink [LUFP].  I have truly enjoyed viewing the numerous blogs of creations which have been linked up during the month of October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Nite Challenge FNC on SOC

Good Sunday Morning to you!
I have winded down to the end of a very restful vacation. We actually traveled... But I kept my overall health in mind & slept in very late each day. Oh I feel very rested!

On the Scraps of Color (SOC) site - the Friday Nite Chat & Challenge was a blast last Friday. There were 3 challenges - the 1st was the Brown Sugar Challenge: Use that sweet wonderful color brown in as many shades as you like to create whatever you like card, ATC, layout, mini page anything goes.. (To be posted by midnight).

While participating in the fun online chat, I created a card.

I'm still working on the two other challenges from FNC which are due by midnight on 9/23. Lets see how I do with this deadline ;-).

Have a blessed relaxed Sunday! Thanks for stopping by.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Greetings to all!
I am enjoying a restful vacation this week and today was my first opportunity to hang out in my creative station ;-).  I had a chance to visit blogs and enjoy many amazing projects - all while thinking of what I wanted to create today.  I knew I wanted to make an item to post over at: Link Up For Pink _ Challenge #6A couple of the rules were to... Create any BCA Pink Project and the BCA project must have pink as the main color. I think I've followed the rules correctly (still so new at this).

I received a very touching card from a fellow survivor and I thought I should do more than simply send her card in return.  I altered a box for her and used a stamping method I learned from Naujda, over at Scraps of Color during a crop nite earlier this year.  I am sure hoping she will enjoy these.

Thank you very much for stopping by tonight.

FNC Cards, Acrylic Plaque & Card My Hubby's Anniversary Card

What an awesome weekend for me, which began last night, making two cards. I participated on Scraps of Color [SOC]  Friday Night Chat (FNC) Card Sketches 1 & 3 created by Classygirl (Tiare)  I really had a great time trying to keep up with chat, and attempting to create at the same time, lol!

This morning I created the card & acrylic plaque below for a very good friend.  For many years, she's always sent me gifts, cards and sermons on tape.

Today is my 12th wedding anniversary to my awesome hubby, Ed!
During this time last year, we weren't able to make any anniversary plans ~ we are over that hurdle of treatments and have special plans this week... beginning early tomorrow & I can't wait enjoy some fun & one-on-one time together. He works a lot and on top of that... takes care of me through my continuous healing process. I'm so thankful, very thankful.

"You Are Amazing" Card

This photo is of another card I created yesterday. I have come to the realization that I’ll truly need to take additional card classes in order to upgrade on my card making abilities. Another thing is that I plan to begin trying to use ‘sketches’ for my card making. I will do more research on this… thus far, I have found a couple of very good sites to try. One of the sights is the The Outlawz Challenges site - I haven't tried any sketches there yet, however - I do plan to do so by next weekend.

This card was inspired by Challenge #5 (now closed) on the Link Up For Pink site: I will try to do better with following a sketch, next time around. As I stated, I'll need to research this technique a bit more.

Have a great weekend all
